Craig caught lying again, latest attack on Teirab backfires
(10/30/24)

BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Republican candidate for Congress in Minnesota’s Second Congressional District Joe Teirab issued the following statement on his opponent Angie Craig’s latest ad that falsely attacks Teirab’s record as a prosecutor. The ad was given an “F” for the “misleading, out-of-context and missing information” by KSTP’s Truth Test.

“Angie Craig is either ignorant of the legal process or being deliberately deceitful – neither of which are a good look for a sitting Congresswoman. “What Angie Craig didn’t care to know, or didn’t tell the public, was that the person who she falsely says was let off easy was a cooperating defendant in a large scale drug trafficking organization investigation. That individual not only did prison time himself, but he testified against the main target of the investigation and without his cooperation we would have never been able to take down the ringleader. The whole case led to getting even more drugs off our streets – a completely different picture than what Angie is trying to paint.

“Also, by calling to question the actions taken in this case, Angie is attacking the collective effort of law enforcement to take a truly bad man off the streets. This is a slap in the face to the law enforcement at the local, county, state, and federal level who worked tirelessly with me to bring to justice a man who abused women and dealt drugs. This is just further evidence that law enforcement is nothing more than a prop for Angie to use in her commercials.

“Angie Craig has shown she knows nothing about how to take down large scale drug traffickers, how to take fentanyl off our streets, or how our justice system works. I’m proud of my record as a prosecutor and my life’s work of getting dangerous criminals and drugs off our streets.”
